Global Value Chains Embeddedness for the Energy Efficiency: A Panel Data Approach with Country-Level Decomposition

This study examines the link between a firm’s energy efficiency and their participation in global value chains (GVCs). Both countries’ GVCs positioning indices are designed to define features of chains. We begin with theoretical approach how GVC influences efficiency. The sample size 54 nations from 2000 2019 is then investigated for empirical analysis using FE 2SLS methods. results show that impact unknown development increases selected countries. Further, it found expansion index effect forward on larger than backward positioning. Furthermore, increasing wealthy reduces manufacturing industries, but developing countries raises somewhat opposing pollution haven approach. A key policy recommendation actively participate encourage at macro-level.
